The location was fantastic, and the staff were knowledgeable and friendly. We appreciated the free shampoo and soap provided, as well as the helpful information about the island. The location is fantastic, being right in town but up a quiet street away from all the noise. It's only an 8-minute walk from the ferry and very close to the center of the township, making it very easy to get around. The staff was friendly and provided excellent service. The basic amenities were accessible and clean, and the breakfast was delicious.
All in all, everything was just fine.

This hotel is situated in a great location, just a short walk to the city center with plenty of restaurants and shops nearby. the room service was excellent, and breakfast was an absolute treat with fresh fruits and a variety of items. the view from the hotel was breathtaking, and there were many leisure facilities available for all guests, including those with physical disabilities. We particularly enjoyed the indoor pool and the sauna.
The hotel's Wi-Fi connection was pretty weak, which was a disappointment.

Had a great time during my thanksgiving stay! the location was perfect for exploring the island, and the communal kitchen had everything I needed to cook a feast. I loved the free exchange program, which allowed me to borrow hiking gear and even kiwi spotting equipment! the accommodating hosts were also a plus and made me feel right at home.
The showers didn't always have hot water, which made for an uncomfortable shower experience. the lack of sufficient hooks in the bathroom made for a wet and messy situation.

stayed here in half-moon bay before and Stewart Island Backpackers was even better this time. loved the well-organized place and the addition of herbs. great mix of ages, from kids to 70s. other patrons can be messy, but the staff works hard to keep it clean. the kitchen was good, just needs others to clean up better.
Showers and toilets not always clean.

The hotel is in a great location close to everything in this small town, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The room I stayed in was very clean and tidy, and the shared facilities were excellent. I was able to check-in early and the tariff was well-priced for the value I received.
Can't think of anything.

Amazing experience! The hosts were very welcoming and called before arrival to make sure our room was ready. The rooms were spotless, with plenty of warm bedding and the heater helped take the chill off the air. The kitchen was fully equipped with enough space for everyone and we enjoyed chatting with fellow travelers. There was a private kiwi-spotting tour that was a great adventure.
Nothing to complain about! Though at peak times, we had to wait a bit for space in the kitchen because it was quite small.
